SMS (Short Messaging Service) text message:
This capability allows a user to dial a StarStar code and receive SMS messages containing content from a brand. This capability may be used in a variety of service offerings including direct response marketing, mobile couponing, information services and televoting services.
Two-way SMS text interaction or SMS Dialog:
When a user dials a StarStar code, they receive an initial mobile terminated SMS that contains a menu including options for a response to the message. The user can then respond to this SMS and the requested content is sent to the user.
Multi Media Messaging or MMS (Multi Media Service):
This may be used for a variety of service offerings where a user dials StarStar to receive news and information. MMS content can include pictures, videos, audio files, ring tones, and text.
WAP Push:
This capability facilitates a WAP push message that contains the URL of a brand’s mobile Web site. When a user’s phone receives the WAP push message, it presents a simple pop-up menu allowing the user to go directly to the brand’s mobile Web site. This is a simple way a user to discover a brand’s WAP site.
Voice Call:
This capability allows users to dial a StarStar code that prompts a voice call to be setup for the caller. The voice call can route to any location a brand chooses. For instance, the user could be routed to the brand’s call center.
Combination of Services:
Combinations of the above service features can be used in a single interaction. For example, a brand could implement a campaign that sends a brief SMS text message informing a subscriber of a special promotion all while connecting the end user to a customer service agent. |
