How StarStar Service Works for Mobile Operators

Unlike the SMS Short Codes where every carrier has a different experience, StarStar service is consistent and simple to engage. Here’s how it works. StarStar service offers a single provisioning point with no up-front investment, no hardware, no software and no maintenance costs. The carrier simply enables the StarStar service as a dialing sequence, once in each switch, to enable the entire StarStar code namespace.

StarStar service uses SS7 to resolve codes, detect device type and location and send an ‘intelligent’ response to user.

As a carrier, you maintain control over the solution on your network while the advertiser administers and controls the campaigns and the customer experience they wish to provide in their off- and on-line campaigns. The StarStar service then delivers the appropriate message to the end user based on their handset type.
