Barry Briggs

Principal, Jackson Hole Group

Barry Briggs is currently a Principal at the Jackson Hole Group (www.jacksonholegroup.com), joining them after a distinguished 28-year career in traditional and interactive media. Most recently, Barry was the President and COO of CNET Networks Inc, a global interactive media company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. There Barry architected and directed the convergence of several different internet media companies such as ZDNET, mySimon, GameSpot, Tech Republic, and namesake CNET into a cohesive operating company that produced fast-growing revenues and profitability, as well as industry prominence.

Prior to serving CNET Networks, Barry was President of ZDNet, the interactive division of Ziff Davis Inc., the leading publisher of technology-focused magazines. Barry helped build ZDNet from its start-up roots into a leading interactive media brand before its sale to rival CNET Networks in 2000.

Prior to joining the interactive media world, Barry started his career in magazine publishing where he spent 15 years in various sales and marketing management positions at Time Inc., most of them with Sports Illustrated and Time magazine.


Shankar Chandran

Partner, Panorama Capital

Shankar is a Partner and part of the founding team at Panorama Capital. He currently focuses on venture capital investments in communication infrastructure, core technology and investments in the mobile space. Shankar has been an active venture investor for 9 years at Panorama Capital and previously at JPMorganPartners. He is deeply passionate about building game changing technology businesses and partnering with outstanding entrepreneurs and management teams. Shankar currently brings his passionate commitment to excellence serving as a director on the boards of Zoove, Validity and Neoconix. Previously Shankar was involved either as a director or observer with the firm’s investments in CHiL Semiconductor (acquired by International Rectifier), Reflectivity (acquired by TI), Valere Power (acquired by Eltek), Portalplayer (acquired by Nvidia) and Tagsys RFID.

Shankar started his career as an engineer in the semiconductor industry in Silicon Valley where he enjoyed solving technical problems and building products. From 1995 to 2000, Shankar held various engineering, business development, and management roles at Applied Materials, Inc., and has been granted seven patents as the primary inventor. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Santa Clara University.

Shankar holds a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from the Institute of Technology, BHU (India), an M.S. in Materials Science from Arizona State University, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Sean Dalton

General Partner, Highland Capital

Sean is a General Partner investing in communications infrastructure and semiconductors. He currently represents Highland on the boards of Casero, CHiL Semiconductor, Covergence, Innovative Silicon, MokaFive, Optasite, picoChip, QD Vision, Radiospire Networks, Starent Networks (Nasdaq: STAR), Tatara Systems, Virtual Iron Software and Zoove and also actively works with ANDA Networks. Sean is a former director of AccessLan Communications (acquired by Advanced Fibre Communications), Altiga Networks (acquired by Cisco), CCTV Wireless (acquired by TerreStar), Envoy Networks (acquired by Texas Instruments), Ocular Networks (acquired by Tellabs), P.A. Semi (acquired by Apple), Telcobuy.com (merged with World Wide Technology) and Telica (acquired by Lucent). The prestigious Forbes Midas List has recognized Sean as one of the top venture capitalists in the industry. Sean received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S in Electrical Engineering from University of Delaware.


Joe Gillespie

President & Chief Executive Officer, Zoove

Joseph Gillespie joined Zoove as President and CEO in 2010, overseeing all business operations and strategy for Zoove. Under Joe’s leadership, Zoove has launched StarStar numbers across all of the top wireless carriers in the US, reaching 95% of mobile consumers, and announced its first major campaigns with brands including: Suzuki, 1800Flowers.com, Good Morning America (ABC), The Early Show (CBS), cable programming networks, consumer packaged goods companies, and others.Joe joined Zoove after stepping down from an accomplished career at CBS, and initially serving as an advisor to Zoove’s Board of Directors. Most recently, Joe served as executive vice president of CBS Interactive Technology & News, which includes CBSNews.com, CNET.com, CNET News.com and Download.com. At CBS, Joe was responsible for vision and execution, ensuring that CBSNews.com continued to complement CBS News broadcasts in an innovative manner, and CNET continued to lead the market in developing engaging, authentic brand experiences.

Joe joined CBS after it acquired CNET Networks for $1.8 Billion in 2008. Joe joined CNET in mid-2004 as chief marketing officer, and eventually oversaw CNET’s Web 2.0 strategy, including several brand extensions to attract new audiences and advertisers. These extensions included CNET TV, Webware.com, Crave.com, Car Tech, and the CNET Blog Network.

Prior to joining CNET Networks, Joe served as executive vice president, chief operating officer, and acting chief executive officer of Paul Allen’s Vulcan Ventures’ TechTV, which was acquired by Comcast in 2004 and merged with G4. Before his tenure at TechTV, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of ZDTV, a Ziff-Davis, Inc. Company. He also served as executive vice president of corporate sales and marketing for Ziff-Davis, Inc, a pioneer in the development of trade press with publications like PC Magazine. Joe spent his early career in sports media with companies including CBS Sports, National Broadcasting Company and Sports Information Database, Inc. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism/communications from Rutgers College and is a current member of its advisory board. Joe lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and his pet black Lab. In his free time, he enjoys music, cars, golf, and hiking in the Marin Headlands with his dog.


Timothy H. Jemison

Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer, Zoove

Timothy Jemison is an accomplished communications and technology executive with proven success in entrepreneurial ventures and in launching and developing startup companies into viable commercial enterprises.

Prior to co-founding Zoove, Jemison served as Director of Sales for Appiant Technologies (NASDAQ: APPS), a software applications and communications infrastructure organization, providing hosted carrier class Unified Messaging solutions for service providers (Wireless, ISP, LEC’s, ASP) and large enterprise customers. Customers included AT&T Wireless, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Landline.

Mr. Jemison was also Vice President of Operations and Chief Technology Officer for CollegeLink.com from September 1999 to May 2000. He was a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer for Online Scouting Network, Inc., an Internet-based athletic recruiting service. Mr. Jemison was featured on the cover of “Success Magazine” in November 1996, describing the $1.5 million angel investment he secured for Online Scouting Network from 15 professional athletes. Mr. Jemison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.


Mike Lee

Mike Lee is Vice President at Rogers Ventures and is responsible for new venture assessment, investment and development.Mike’s approach to investments in thorough and unique.  He travels cross-country to meet prospective startup companies as well as holding wall-to-wall meetings to get to know the people behind the ideas as well as to examine the innovative technology scene. He brings these values to Rogers Ventures delivering great people and ideas out of the woodwork. Mike, a University of Toronto grad, believes that the proper innovation and entrepreneurial environment has to be established in order for Canada’s technology sector to grow. He wants Rogers Ventures to help build this environment where Canada can achieve sustained success as an industry and thought leader.


Tim Weingarten

Tim Weingarten

Tim is the CEO and co-founder of ShopTAP Inc., and before founding ShopTAP he was the CEO of Visage Mobile. Prior to these companies, Tim was a General Partner at Worldview Technology Partners, an early stage VC firm. At Worldview, Tim focused on seed-stage investing in the networking, wireless, consumer digital media, Internet infrastructure and broadband-enabled applications sectors. In addition to his board seat at Visage Mobile, Tim is a board member of Cogent Communications (NASD: CCOI), Ooma and Zoove.

Previously, Tim was a board member of Avvenu (acquired by Nokia), Force10 Networks (merged with Turin Networks) and Movaz Networks (acquired by Adva Optical). Prior to joining Worldview, Tim worked in equity research focused on the telecommunications and networking equipment sectors at Robertson, Stephens and Company. Tim holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
